It has been almost a year since more than 200 Nigerian schoolgirls were abducted by Boko Haram. The military says it has captured all of Boko Haram’s strongholds, but the girls still haven’t been found. CCTV Africa’s Sophia Adengo reports from Abuja.

Highlights:

  • An official from the UNHCR said the Chibok girls could have been executed by fleeing Boko Haram. The agency retracted that statement and instead appealed to the insurgents not to kill the girls.
  • The government of Nigeria said it’s working to find the girls, the military vowed to prevent Boko Haram from carrying out future raids on civilian targets.
