Mandarin to be introduced in South African schools

When it comes to learning a foreign language, students in South Africa are about to get another option: Mandarin. It could open up new economic opportunities for those who learn it. CCTV’s Julie Scheier filed this report.

The Department of Education has approved Mandarin as part of the South African school curriculum. A decision greatly influenced by the fact that China is South Africa’s biggest trading partner.
