CCTV’s The Heat on Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid

The Heat

Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made it official: she is running for US president. The Heat takes a look at her foreign policy legacy and what US foreign policy might look like under her leadership.

The US presidential race is underway with Hillary Clinton’s much awaited announcement on Sunday. It is her second bid for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination after she lost to Barack Obama in 2008. If she is successful, the former First Lady would become the first female President of the United States. But critics have attacked her foreign policy while she served as Obama’s Secretary of State.

CCTV’s Jim Spellman provided an update on her campaign.

The Heat discussed about Hillary Clinton’s candidacy with these experts:

  • P.J. Crowley worked for Clinton as the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs and a spokesman for the U.S. State department.
  • Cheng Li, a director of the John L. Thornton China Center and an expert on China-U.S. relations.
  • Allan Lichtman, a professor at American University who can boast of correctly predicting the outcome of all U.S. presidential elections since 1984.
  • The Heat continued its discussion about former U.S. Secretary of State and First Lady Hillary Clinton’s second bid for the U.S. presidency.
