150 years ago, the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, was shot in the back of the head in a theater by one of the actors. Credited for abolishing slavery in the US and leading his country through its bloodiest war, the US Civil War, he is an icon of American politics and history.

Candlelight vigil commemoth anniversary of Lincoln's death

On April 14th several hundred living historians and D.C. residents participated in a candlelight vigil in front of Ford's Theater, to commemorate U.S. President Abraham Lincoln. His assassination more than 150 years ago marks a pivotal turn in American history.
