Chinese President Xi Jinping has delivered a speech at the Asian-African summit, with the aim of carrying on the Bandung Spirit and promoting the common development of the two vibrant continents.

“The deepening cooperation of Asian and African countries could generate a ‘one plus one is more than two’ effect. We need to stick to the spirit of mutual benefits, win-win results, and mutual development. We need to deepen regional and cross-regional cooperation and promote liberalization of trade and investment,” Xi said.

President Xi Jinping arrived in Indonesia Wednesday for the Asian-African summit and commemorative activities for the historic 1955 Bandung Conference.

During his two-day visit, President Xi will hold bilateral and multilateral meetings with other leaders and attend events marking the 60th anniversary of the first major Asian-African conference, in the city where it all started, Bandung.
