Ancient boats continue to sail the Nile in modern times

The flow of the Nile had for a long time been linked to the direct intervention of water gods. The construction of the Aswan High Dam from the 1960s, helped to control the annual flooding of the Nile. The advent of modernity has not resulted in people abandoning their traditional modes of transport along the Nile.

CCTV Africa’s Fahmida Miller got up-close with operators of the Felluca, to learn why such boats from ancient times are still sailing the Nile.
