Chinese Mainland, Taiwan leaders meet to talk cross-strait ties

Ruling parties’ leaders from the Chinese Mainland and Taiwan met in Beijing on Monday. This is the highest level-talks between the two sides in six years. General Secretary of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee Xi Jinping called for both sides to build a “community of shared destiny” and settle political differences through equal consultations.
