Spanish football league faces possible suspension

World Today

Spanish football could be all but over for the season. The top two teams, Barcelona and Real Madrid both played Saturday but league play could be suspended beginning next weekend unless administrators reach an agreement.  CCTV’s Dan Williams filed this report from Madrid.

Highlights:

  • The league will be suspended following a dispute between the two governing bodies.
  • The situation has been further complicated by a possible players union strike.
  • The union also wants a bigger share of the TV rights money.
