Former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi’s legal troubles are far from over. He was sentenced to death last week for his 20-11 break out from prison. That verdict triggered a strong backlash with his supporters killing 3 prosecutors over the weekend. CCTV’s Adel El Mahrouky filed this report from Cairo, Egypt.

Highlights:
  • In April Mohamed Morsi was sentenced to 20 years in prison, for allegedly endorsing the attacking of opposition protesters back in 2012. At least nine were killed in the clashes. On Saturday the judge preferred a death penalty for some defendants, including Morsi, in two other cases, with the verdict postponed to June 2nd.
  • Prosecutors have asked for the maximum penalty for Morsi, for allegedly leaking national defense and other top secrets documents to Qatar in his fourth court case.
