Syrian civil war has crippled the economy

Refugee and Migrant Crisis

Endless fighting has crippled Syria’s economy, and boxes of goods sit waiting to be transported across the country which has been a war zone. CCTV’s Alaa Ebrahim filed this report.

Highlights:

  • Recent government gains in central Syria meant that there are more secure roads to travel but even risky destinations have to be reached.
  • The transport industry that was once known as Syria’s gold is no more the case.
