Presidents of Brazil, Mexico sign investment agreement

Brazil and Mexico haven’t had much to cheer about in terms of their economies, which led their Presidents to work together to find a way to support each other’s growth plans. Now both countries are looking to boost trade as well as their diplomatic ties. CCTV’s Franc Contreras filed this report from Mexico City.

  • Brazil and Mexico’s joint economic activities account for more than half of all the production in the region. Trade between Mexico and Brazil has increased about 50 percent since 2006 to nine billion dollars, small for the size of their respective economies, according to officials.
  • To boost investment, the presidents of both nations signed the Agreement on Investment Cooperation.
