Syria orchestra reunites for sold-out concert

Refugee and Migrant Crisis

A orchestra made up of all females in Syria has gotten back together after years apart, and their first reunion concert is sold out. CCTV’s Alaa Ebrahim filed this report from the capital, Damascus.

More details:

  • The women started the band in. 2006, but as Syria spiraled into a civil war, the women stopped making music, until now.
  • The women found it difficult to even attend rehearsals, which is why they had such a delay in reuniting to make music.
  • Many musicians have left the country, emigrating for a better life of safety away from the civil war.
