Nigerians hope President Buhari does well this time

Global Business

Nigeria has a new president, who was already President before in 1983 when he came to power after leading a military coup. Thousands of Nigerian refugees living in camps, with little to no hope, hold tight to an idea that maybe the return of Muhammadu Buhari might spell relief for them.

More details:

  • Conditions in Nigeria are harsh, especially for those living in camps around the country that have little access to humanitarian aid. People in these camps are holding tight to the hope that Muhammadu Buhari can do something about the violent group Boko Haram so they can return home.
  • President Buhari has vowed to defeat Boko Haram militants. He has already sent Nigeria’s military high command to the city of Maiduguri, considered the birthplace of Boko Haram.
