Shanghai F1 circuit to offer fans chance to drive the cars

Global Business

Formula One racing has been in Shanghai too, for more than 10 years, with growing popularity. Motorsport fans in the city will soon be able to drive a real F1 car on the Shanghai circuit beginning in July, but it will come with a hefty price. Organizers haven’t decided how much to charge for the experience, but they say it’ll likely be around 20 to 30 THOUSAND Chinese Yuan, or nearly $5,000 US Dollars, for someone to drive a car for the day. It’s about the same price as similar opportunities for fans in Europe. Wu Yina filed this report.
