Highlights: 

  •  Nearly half a million Americans have been injured in distraction-related crashes in 2013. More than three thousand people died.
  • Even though most U.S. states ban it, a survey by telecoms firm AT& T found texting at the wheel is the number one phone-related distraction. Emailing, tweeting and updating Facebook accounts aren’t far behind
