The Heat’s Anand Naidoo interviewed Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif, of about U.S.-Cuba relations Wednesday and he asked her one more question about whether she thought Hillary Clinton would become the Democratic party’s presidential nominee. Here’s her response:

“Sen. Clinton I think is doing quite well, she really has the experience as Secretary of State, as senator, as First Lady, to really move forward and pull the country together and make sure that all the major issues that we have to address here in our country, in terms of economic growth and jobs, she’s certainly on the right track and certainly way out there in front of other candidate.” Lee said.

Naidoo also asked whether Hillary Clinton would continue with President Obama’s policies if elected.

“Sen. Clinton certainly has her views, and her policies, and her team, and I know for sure that we won’t go backwards. I think that it’s important. That’s why we elect presidents, and why there are term limits for presidents. Presidents come in, they have their own ideas, their own policies, they build upon the previous administration,” Lee said.

“I think we’re going to see under… President Clinton some very progressive and some very enlightened policies that really will addresses not only the middle class, but those who are working, and the poor, and people who want to achieve the middle class and the American dream in our country.”
