Iraq prepares for operation to liberate Anbar province

Iraq’s military claimed that troops moved to surround Anbar province. They prepared for an operation to liberate it from ISIL. This came more than two weeks after Iraq lost Ramadi to the terrorist group. CCTV’s Wisam Al Bayati filed this report.

Highlights:

  • After heavy clashes between the Iraqi forces and the extremists of ISIL, the Islamic state affiliates have imposed their control on the city of Ramadi the center of the province of Anbar in October.
  • Since then the Iraqi government have been mobilizing its troops and deploying more forces on the suburbs and outskirts of the province of Anbar especially nearby the Al Baghdadi district where one of the biggest Airbase Ain Al Asad is Located.
  • According to the top military commanders all the Iraqi armed forces departments are taking part in this task saying that the military command is monitored by the Iraqi prime minister to accelerate the process and take the wise and required decision during the battle as fast as it could be.
