Highlight:

• DARPA, an agency of the U.S. Defense Department, had teams build robots that could be used in disaster relief. The idea was launched after the 2011 nuclear disaster in Fukushima, Japan.
• 24 teams from the U.S., Europe and Asia brought their most advanced robots to be put to the test. All had to complete eight difficult tasks including driving a car, turning a valve, drilling a hole in a wall and walking through rubble.
• The winner of the 2015 DARPA Robotics Challenge is team KAIST from South Korea and its robot DRC-Hubo. The prize is two million dollars.
