Intel fund to support women and minorities in technology

Global Business

There’s been a lot of talk about increasing diversity and especially for women in Silicon Valley. Chip-maker Intel has decided to back up all that talk with some real money. As Mark Niu reports, the technology giant is investing heavily in startups that show potential for success.

More details:

  • The fund’s first investment is nearly 17-million dollars into four startups.
  • U.S companies with women CEOs received only three percent of total venture capital dollars.
  • Intel recently announced its long-term goal of achieving full representation for women and underrepresented minorities in its U.S. workforce by 2020.
