Stars come out for Shanghai International Film Festival

The stars are shining brightly in China’s bustling commercial capital. Entertainers from around the globe gathered in Shanghai, for the opening of its International Film Festival. CCTV-America’s Xu Geng filed the report from Shanghai.

Highlight: 

  • The Shanghai International Film Festival was first held in 1993, and is increasing in importance as the Chinese box office entered a boom in the past years.
  • Over 1,200 contemporary and classic films from around the world will be shown.
