Houthi delegation delayed talks in Geneva

World Today

Yemen’s foreign minister has accused Houthi rebels of intentionally delaying talks in Geneva aimed at ending months of fighting. Discussions brokered by the United Nations were due to start on Sunday, but delegates are still waiting for the rebels representatives to arrive. CCTV’s Guy Henderson filed this report from Geneva.

More details:

  • Talks did take place on Monday, but not with the Houthi delegation. The rebels were delayed.
  • Before returning to New York, Ban Ki Moon called for an ease in fighting.
  • The violence has made it almost impossible for aid to reach those who need it most.
