More has been revealed about the results of an air attack last week on an al-Qaeda target in Yemen. A U.S. drone strike killed al-Qaeda’s second in command, Nasir al-Wuhayshi, who served as the leader of the terror group’s branch in Yemen. CCTV America’s Daniel Ryntjes filed this report.

More details:

  • Nasir al-Wuhayshi’s death after a U.S. drone strike last week in Yemen has been confirmed in a video statement by al-Qaeda.
  • Al-Wuhayshi was a close aide to Osama bin Laden prior to the U.S. 9/11 attacks in 2001.
  • Terrorism analysts conclude that even without al-Wuhayshi, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula remains a potent threat to the international community, feeding off the continuing instability in Yemen.
