World Refugee Day: Calais reflects turmoil of migrant crisis in Europe

It’s collateral damage caused by ongoing global conflicts. The United Nations estimates a record 60-million were living as refugees in 2014. But, on this World Refugee Day, the UN says those seeking shelter outside their countries are being shut out of others. CCTV’S correspondent Kate Parkinson filed this report from Calais in northern France.

Italian island tops destination for migrants

Refugees in Turkey are among the millions of ordinary people trying to survive extraordinary circumstances.This year some 50,000 people have attempted to across the Mediterranean Sea from north Africa to Europe. The destination for most is Italy’s Lampedusa Island. CCTV’s Stephanie Freid filed this report from Lampedusa Island in Italy.
