Tunisia’s government says the attack could cost the country more than half a billion dollars in tourism revenue. That’s around a quarter of the money it makes each year from foreign visitors. Thousands of tourists have fled. CCTV’s Adel EL Mahrouky filed this report from Sousse.

Highlights:

  • Tourism is the primary source of foreign currency for Tunisia.
  • Over 10% of the labor force work in tourism, that’s nearly 400 thousand people.
