Beijing passes new wide-ranging security legislation

Chinese legislators have approved a new National Security Law, which gives greater jurisdiction over cyber security and allows for the establishment of a coordinated, efficient crisis management system. The National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee adopted the law at the close of its bi-monthly session on Wednesday.
