Iran nuke talks continue with tension in the air

At the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency, inspection teams are preparing sophisticated new equipment for nuclear surveillance. While waiting for a deal curbing Iran’s nuclear ambitions, their work, in part, stands in the way of deal. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says both sides are closer than ever to agreement, but the technicalities are a hurdle. CCTV’s Richard Bestic filed this report from Vienna.


US individual states impose sanctions on Iran regardless the deal
A major incentive for Iran to reach a nuclear deal is to get sanctions lifted. As one of the key negotiating partners, the United States will be able to ease some sanctions, but not others. Even individual U.S. states have imposed sanctions unlikely to be lifted, even if a deal is struck.
