Across social media, many Iranians have been positive over the news that a nuclear deal had been tentatively reached. We wanted to explore that sentiment further, so we turned to our own Elmira Jafari – an Iranian-born guest booker and blogger for CCTV America.
She frequently tackles topics of Persian and Middle Eastern culture, religion, and daily life, so we asked her here and on Periscope about her thoughts on the years-in-the-making nuclear deal reached Tuesday.
“Iranians are happy because this is going to affect their every-day lives,” she said. “Things like making foreign transactions, shopping online, these are things the Iranian people cannot do right now because of the sanctions.”
“We can come to peace and we can come to agreements through negotiations,” Jafari said. “War is not always the answer. This just proved it.”
