It has been one year now, since Europe imposed sanctions on Russia’s energy, defense and financial sectors for its actions in Ukraine. The EU cited Russia’s annexation of Crimea, and what it called Moscow’s support for separatists in eastern Ukraine. This has left Russia isolated from key trading partners and scrambling to rescue its economy. As is often the case, some are finding lucrative opportunities. CCTV’s Owen Fairclough filed this report.
