Greece’s parliament passes second set of reforms

Greek lawmakers have voted on a second package of reforms needed before talks on a rescue deal can begin. The government said it hopes negotiations on the bailout deal can start this week and end by August 20th. CCTV’s Eirini Zarkadoula filed this report from Athens.

Greece struggling to cope with influx
Greece surpassed Italy in new refugee arrivals this year. The United Nations estimates that 77,000 arrived by sea, risking the maritime route from Turkey to reach the Greek islands. As a result, a refugee crisis has been created, with almost 90 percent of them originating from conflict zones, like Syria and Afghanistan. Greece, with its own economic problems, and without solid migration policies, is struggling to cope. CCTV’s Filio Kontrafouri reports.
