Tanzania to export world-famous bomb sniffing rats

A Tanzanian charity says it’s in the final stages of a deal to export its world-renowned rats to Zimbabwe to help sniff out landmines. The Apopo rats have been taught to detect explosives and it’s hoped they will help clear the country of thousands of land mines laid during the country’s liberation war. But it’s not just bombs that the rats are being trained to find. Dan Ashby filed this report from Tanzania.
