Facebook’s growing user base stimulates video ads

Global Business

Facebook’s second quarter results didn’t disappoint, beating every forecast on nearly every data category.
Profit came in at 50 cents per share on more than 4 billion dollars in revenue. That sales figure surged nearly 40 percent compared to the same quarter a year ago. Most of that came from mobile ads which made up for 76 percent of its total advertising revenue. The number of monthly active users also beat expectations – nearly hitting one and a half billion people, but the company’s bottom line was impacted by an 82 percent surge in spending.

CCTV’s Mark Niu has more details from Silicon Valley about the social media giant’s earnings.
