Ancient plant could power Mexico’s future

Mexico became the first developing nation to step up to a United Nations challenge and announce a plan to counter global warming in March.
It promised to halt the rise of greenhouse gas emissions by 2026, and reduce them by nearly a quarter by 2030. This goal will depend a great deal on transitioning Mexico’s current reliance on fossil fuels to cleaner sources of energy.
