The Heat: The philosophy behind the wall

The Heat

It’s becoming a walled world – from the Middle East to Eastern Europe; the Americas to ancient Asia. People have for centuries turned to building border walls to protect their internal security.

What is the philosophy behind building up these borders? For more on this topic, The Heat spoke to the following experts:

  • Huwaida Arraf, a Palestinian human rights activist and attorney.
  • Flo Razowsky, a photographer who is working on her project “Up Against The Wall,” a look at border walls and their impacts.
  • Thomas Frey is a futurist speaker and executive director of the Da Vinci Institute.
  • Ali Al-Ahmed, founder and director of the Institute for Gulf Affairs.
