River in Colorado reopens weeks after contamination

Officials in the U.S. state of Colorado say the Animas River which was turned orange by three million gallons of contaminated water two weeks ago is slowly returning to normal.

The river has been reopened for recreation and other uses. The pollutants came from one of thousands of abandoned mines in the U.S. West, which contain highly toxic materials. CCTV’s Hendrik Sybrandy filed this report from Denver.
