French, UK police work to stem African migration

World Today

French and British police have set up a command and control center in Calais, France to target organized gangs who smuggle migrants from Africa further into Europe and into the UK.

The new joint task force is part of a range of security measures announced in Calais by the French Interior Minister Bernard Cazenueve and his British counterpart Theresa May. As CCTV’s Richard Bestic reports from Calais, the port town is at the center of a crisis, where thousands of migrants are camped out in squalid conditions as they attempt to make their way to the United Kingdom.
