Chinese WWII veterans celebrate V-Day

The Victory Day Parade carries special meaning for veterans of the Second World War, who risked their lives on battle fields to gain a cherished victory.

Many World War II veterans in China are in their nineties now. They joined the army when they were only teenagers to risk their lives battling invaders. The victory was hard-won and this week’s commemoration is much more than a parade to them.

CCTV’s Mao Dan visited some of veterans and filed this report.
