Hungary blames EU for migrant chaos

World Today

As Hungary comes under increased criticism for its perceived tough handling for refugees, the country’s Foreign Minister has placed the blame for the migrant chaos in his country squarely at the feet of the European Union. CCTV’s Jack Barton filed this report from Brussels.

More details:

  • Thousands of exhausted migrants streamed into Austria on Saturday after being unexpectedly taken to the border in buses by the Hungarian government.
  • By Saturday morning, Austrian police said 4,000 people had arrived at the border with the number expected to double before nightfall.
  • At the same time a steady stream of people continued to arrive in Macedonia from Greece, heading to Germany via Hungary, which believes E.U. is largely to blame.
