More details:

  • Since its discovery in 1922, King Tut’s gold mask has risen from the pharaoh’s tomb as the most precious artifact of ancient Egypt.
  • At an international conference for Egyptology, archaeology and antiquities experts will gather in Cairo in late September to discuss how to fix the mask.
  • The upcoming restoration project aims to do a complete face lift to the boy king’s face. The restoration should put the mask back to its original condition when discovered 93 years ago.
