With 800 million people said to be enduring starvation conditions in the world, the UN says one third of all food produced for human consumption is lost before it reaches the table, or is simply wasted. Chefs in Peru seem to have come up with a great solution.

In Peru, some chefs are determined to prove that leftovers can be turned into a culinary art form. Dan Collyns joined them in the kitchen.
