In Venezuela, opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez has been sentenced to more than 13 years in jail.

Lopez is accused of inciting violence in anti-government protests last year, in which more than 40 people died. His trial and imprisonment has drawn criticism by international human rights groups.

The U.S. government says it is “troubled” by the conviction. CCTV’s Stephen Gibbs filed this report from neighboring Brazil.
