The interior ministers of all 28 European Union members are gathering in Brussels to discuss the refugee crisis. The meeting will focus on a new European Commission proposal to boost refugee settlement of 160,000.

European Council President Donald Tusk has pledged to call an emergency summit of all EU leaders, if the ministers cannot reach an agreement.

CCTV’s Jack Barton reports.

For more about the crisis and what should be done to aid the tens of thousands of refugees seeking to enter Europe, CCTV talked to Kathleen Newland, the director of the Migrants, Migration, and Development Program at the Migration Policy Institute.
