China asks people to drive less for World Car-Free Day

If you’ve noticed fewer vehicles on the road you can thank World Car-Free Day.

It was established 17 years ago, and asks drivers to leave their cars at home to promote environmental protection.

More than 170 Chinese cities got involved his year. Campaigns encouraged people to get to their destination on foot, by bicycle or public transportation.
Beijing, Chongqing and other cities also imposed traffic controls. CCTV’s Li Qiong filed this report.
