Major tech companies like Google, Facebook and Twitter have all launched special initiatives to increase diversity in the tech industry, but there’s also still the issue of diversity in the world of venture capital.

African Americans make up around 13 percent of the U.S. population, but in the world of venture capital and tech startups, their numbers fall well below 1%.
