Europe’s refugee crisis: Many settling in Greece

World Today

A sizable number of migrants from war-torn parts of the middle east are settling in Athens via the Greek islands.

While the flow of refugees and the influx of migrants with urgency, coming into Europe has been going on for some time now, 2015 marked a noticeable uptick in the scale and nature of the flow causing it to be labeled a crisis, and particularly so for Greece.

The situation becomes more difficult since the winter is close and it is not possible for refugees and migrants to keep living outside without adequate shelter.

CCTV’s Eirini Zarkadoula reports from Athens.
