Syrian and Russian warplanes are conducting joint air strikes in a “wide ranging” offensive.

Meanwhile, Syrian media reports that U.S. led coalition air strikes hit power stations in Aleppo, causing a major blackout.
And, as the air space over Syria becomes more crowded, Washington and Moscow have agreed to a new round of consultations on keeping pilots safe.
The Kremlin has said its mission is to come to the aid of its ally.
But now, almost two weeks into the Russian air raids, the situation around Damascus remains virtually unchanged.
