Violence continues in Israel-Palestine conflict

World Today

Violence continued to plague Israel and the West Bank Monday as at least three Israelis were injured in separate stabbing incidents by Palestinian attackers and numerous Palestinian protesters were injured by the Israeli army.

The obsession of violence derives from continued Jewish settlement on occupied Palestinian land and dead-end negotiations with Israel for a Palestinian state. As Israel’s government beefs up security throughout the country and authorizes its military to use weapons against protesters, Palestinians have gone to battle with rocks, knives, and petrol bombs saying that they have nothing to lose.

Officials on all sides are calling for the parties involved to pull back from the violence. However, one Arab member of the Israeli parliament said it didn’t matter if they pulled back now —  eventually things would again go out of control.
