US-Russia deal to avoid Syria air incidents

World Today

Russia and the U.S. have signed a cooperation deal on Syria. This as Moscow releases details of its latest airstrike campaign saying Russian planes have flown 55 sorties and hit 60 Islamist militant targets in Syria in the last 24 hours.

As Washington continues to accuse Moscow of using airstrikes to ‘prop up’ the Syrian government, Moscow insists its military action is aimed at tackling ISIL and other terrorist organizations in the country. The U.S. and Russia now appear to have agreed on ways to avoid clashing on air strike missions in the region.
