“Right now we’re experiencing record heat,” explains May. “2014 was the hottest year on record in the United States and globally, we’re seeing rising temperatures everywhere.”

In 2008, the environmental organization started with six college friends. The name signifies the amount of carbon dioxide the atmosphere can safely hold without changing our climate. Currently, carbon dioxide measures around 400 parts per million.

May Boeve joined Mike Walter in our New York City studio to tell us how we can take action before it’s too late.
