The Bifengxia panda breeding facility base in the city of Ya’an in southwest China’s Sichuan Province witnessed an impressive group of 18 cubs born and raised this year.

The China’s Giant Panda Protection and Research Center saw 26 cubs born in 17 births, with 23 surviving. That brings the total panda population to 218.

Of the 23 new-born pandas, 16 were born in Bifengxia, four at the Hetaoping Wildness Adaptation Base, one at the Panyu Zoo in south China’s Guangdong Province, one at the Malaysia National Zoo, and one at the Washington Zoo in the United States.
