A new vision for “Made in China”, in Africa

World Today

Seeing “Made in China” on labels and tags used to be synonymous with China’s reputation as the world leader in manufacturing, but this idea has gradually become outdated as more and more Chinese companies are going overseas themselves.

An upgraded version of the “Made in China” idea is creating new visions on the African continent. In shopping malls and advertisements around Africa, Chinese firms like ZTE and Huawei are common sights.

ZTE has helped the Egyptian government build 143 sites for training teachers and distance education. Chinese companies have also set up training centers in North and West Africa, cultivating talents for the telecommunication industry.
